My Aunt Sandy found this really cool picture of my mom and dad:

It’s from some time in the late 60′s or early 70′s, and it looks like my Dad is younger than I am now. The picture is really neat, because in it, I look a lot like my dad. Really cool, since in most pictures, we don’t look alike. Thanks Aunt Sandy!

So, I have an exciting weekend planned for myself… well okay, it’s a weekend. Janet and Jonah are volunteering for the Cancer Services of NM Cancer Retreat, so I have the house (and more importantly my home office) all to myself! I’m one of those rare people that actually loves what the do (web development and entrepreneuring) so a weekend full of work is actually exciting. Yeah, I’m a little weird.

I set a new record on the ride home today – 21:30 with an average speed (including stopping for lights and slow-ass cars) of over 22mph. The wind was out of the NNE, so it pushed me along the entire way. I’m also riding tomorrow, since it’s “Ride Your Bike To Work” day, and they’ll have a food-station or two along my route to work.

I’m also doing some personal finance work this weekend. I haven’t updated my accounts since getting out of Investments/Portfolio class about 8 weeks ago… shame on me! I also got and read a good personal money management book that I highly recommend. It’s Five Things a Millionaire Taught Me about Life and Money by Richard Paul Evans. It’s an enjoyable book that’s also a very quick read.

Hmmm… I seem to have forgotten to update my blog… for the past couple months.  Let’s see… It might be easiest if I just start with a list of things that have happened, in no particular order.

  • Janet and I went to Ireland (Dublin and Galway) for about 10 days in March. We had lots of fun and came back with a suprise. We were in Galway for St. Patrick’s day, and had a lot of fun. Pictures are available at http://www.ReverendBooyah.com/.
  • Financial Engineering/Portfolio Management class went well, though most of the other students didn’t seem to enjoy it. E-Commerce class was also extremely interesting, and Prof. Flor (http://www.professorf.com/) was very informative and increased my copywriting skills immensely. My last classes are Operations Management and Strategic Management. Strategic Management is extremely interesting, and the professor is also very good.
  • Jonah and I got a Vex Robotics kit, but haven’t had much time to work on it. We’ll hopefully start once he gets out of school (and I once I’m done too!)
  • Jonah has been playing a lot of chess, and always wants to play. I don’t let him win, but I started without my rooks and queen, and he did mate me at the end with only a little help.
  • Janet is pregnant and is about 9-10 weeks along now. (See first list item regarding bringing a suprise back from Ireland *wink*). It must have been the Baileys.
  • Spike TV brought back “my show” – 7 Days staring Johnathan LaPaglia as the time travelling “rebel” and Justina Vail as the polar opposite love interest. Yes, it’s cheezy, but I like it!
  • TeamSites is coming along nicely. And BidNip has several improvements coming up. BidNip is still the best auction sniper.
  • Jonah’s baseball team is doing better now. He’s also hitting strongly (got three hits tonight!) when he doesn’t try something crazy (like stepping out and one handed follow-through).
  • I got an XBox 360 and DOA 4 and Battlefield 2. Both are enjoyable games, but I don’t like DOA 4 as much as Tekken. The combos in DOA make it possible to get beaten (or beat) completely – which bugs the crap out of me… The computer makes one hit, then does combos until you’re dead – That just sucks and I usually shut it off in disgust.
  • Saw “An American Haunting” and it was okay to mediocre. Way too long, but the acting was good. It would have made a much better Twilight Zone or Outer Limits episode.
  • I’m still riding my bike to work when I can, and it’s still awesome.

Other than those things, it’s mostly SSDD.Â
